About.

get foo’d is a food, lifestyle and personal blog, with elements of all my favorite things thrown in:  travel, philosophy, health, nutrition and above all, humor.  The name comes from my nickname, “alissafoo,” that my cousin and I somehow come up with sitting at the computer in her bedroom at age 15 when internet handles were first born, and now, 15 years later, it’s my brand.  I’m a reformed hedonist who’s favorite activity is now baking gluten-free muffins before watching my stories and going to bed at 9pm on a Friday.  I’m a deep thinker, a mildly depressed hypochondriac, a total nihilist, a Gemini, and a middle child.  In other words, a modern day comedian.

I’m a total amateur cook and I have no training whatsoever except 31 years worth of taste-testing.  I do not have any professional quality cooking utensils in my kitchen (mostly I make things using 1 bowl, 1 small spoon and 1 old pan) nor do I have a professional quality camera.  But what she doesn’t have in looks, she makes up for in personality!  My recipes can all be subbed for whatever you want and I also encourage experimenting!  Additionally, like my things in my life, I adhere to a very strict, fast and loose policy of rule following.

About alissafoo

Oscar Wilde once said, “To get back my youth I would do anything in the world, except take exercise, get up early, or be respectable.” And now I'm doing all those things in order to do just that.

Pint-Sized Paleo

Seriously, I would sit and eat goldfish and oreos all day if I had it in my house. (Well pre-paleo I would have) But if it's not good for me, how on earth is it good for my baby?!?! So now, we are living a paleo / primal lifestyle, on a budget, with a baby!
